LOST

12.10.2010

1st day of going to school at city of fukuoka (TenJin).
school is situated kinda far from home-stay. It takes about an hour.
15 minutes walking from home to Fukuodai JR Train station, around 15 min to depart Hakata station. Then, ride on Subway Train for another 15 min to city. another 10 minutes walk to school.

I was forced to wake up very early that morning, around 6.30a.m.
Around 7.30a.m., my homestay mom and I went to Fukuodai station by foot.
She taught me the way to city and brought me to the school for one day Orientation. (the route is kinda complicated)
After the orientation and a simple city tour, we have international party at night. We got to know some english learner japanese students and met our language partner. The day was fun but tired me out. =) The party ended around 8.30p.m. We, then dismissed and back to homestay soon after.

Luckily, it was not scary to walk alone at night in the middle of the city in Fukuoka. As everyone is still not familiar with Fukuoka. So, we have to go back home by ourselves. Although I stay much further than others, I, without exception, have to go back myself. At the time, I didn't think that I will lost my way home because I asked the school receptionist about the way before I left the school and I think it won't be too hard to get home myself.

The station officer directed me to a totally opposite way which took me 3 hours to get back home. He thought i wanted to go `fu da qian', and actually `fu GONG da qian' is the station i go. I was so confused after double confirm with him. At last, I followed his direction and reached a totally unfamiliar place. After i got down from the train, i asked the duty officer. Then, i found out that i was misdirected. i got to ride on the same train and back to the station and took correct line to back home. I was so exhausted that night. it was kind of bad day. But, a not-bad experience, though.

my host family in fukuoka, japan

just a short introduction about my host family.

Watanabe-San is my home-stay father.
Chieko-San is my home-stay mom.
They have a daughter, Asuka-San who is 3 years elder than me and currently working in Tokyo.
I am staying in her room now.

On the first day staying in their house, I was a bit scared to sleep as it's the very first time I home-staying (modern japanese-style home) and I found quite a few ghost story books on the bookshelf in my room. I just couldn't fall asleep that night. I kept praying in heart again and again  and had the music and light on throughout the night. On the next day, I found that my coursemate had thought of japanese ghost movie as well on the 1st night. I guess, we probably watched too much japanese movie. haha.!good imagination though. =D

However, thanks God that I got good host family. They are really nice and friendly.
